Donations presented to Community Organizations exceeds 60K

POST-SECONDARY BURSARIES

In 2019, the members of Branch 52 of the Royal Canadian Legion awarded 16 bursaries of $1000 each to eligible students to support their tuition.


Kamloops Therapeutic Riding Association

President Bill Anderson accepted a $600 donation from Kamloops Legion for funding towards their ongoing programs, to upgrade equipment, and to  increase availability and support.


Okanagan Military Tattoo

Derek Hall, Okanagan Military Tattoo director, accepted a $500 donation from Kamloops Legion to help support the ongoing work of the Tattoo to be held this year in Vernon on July 27 and July 28.


Kamloops Music Collective

Kaia Smoliak, representing the KMC accepted a $600 donation towards youth bursaries for the upcoming Kamloops Interior School of Music held each summer.


Walk for Alzheimer's - Donation

Recently the members of the Royal Canadian Legion Br. 52 presented a donation to Jodi Hunt, volunteer co-chair, for the IG Wealth Management Walk for Alzheimer's held in Kamloops on May 5th. See pic below

Legion 2019 Remembrance Contest & Awards

Young Poet Wins Legion Awards

Ava Boynton, a student at Marion Schilling Elem. School, contributed a poem for the annual Remembrance Poster/Lit contest and won awards at the local, zone, and provincial levels. Daniel Martin, Poppy Chair, presented the Provincial award in February 2019.

Westmount Elem. School

Poppy Chair Daniel Martin, along with Craig Thomson, President, and Clarence Schneider, attended Westmount Elem. School in January to present awards to over 200 students who entered the annual Legion Remembrance Poster & Literary contest.

Raleigh Elem. School

Legion representatives Daniel Martin and Brenda Thomson attended an assembly at Raleigh Elem School in February to present awards to all the students who entered posters, poems, or essays into the annual Remembrance contest.

McGowan Elem. School
